Abstract: Oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy frequently experience changes in
nutritional status and dietary patterns, influenced by both clinical characteristics and
sociodemographic factors. Such changes may compromise therapeutic response and
quality of life, making it essential to understand how these factors interact. The study
aimed to assess the presence of malnutrition using the PG-SGA, identify the prevalence
of nutritional alterations, and analyze the adequacy of protein intake and dietary patterns
of oncology patients according to the Dietary Guidelines for the Brazilian Population.
This was a cross-sectional observational study with 25 participants. Sociodemographic,
anthropometric, clinical, and dietary data were collected, in addition to the applicationof the PG-SGA and the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Analyses considered
comparisons between nutritional indicators and categories of malnutrition risk.
The results revealed a high prevalence of malnutrition across different
assessment methods. According to the PG-SGA, 56% were classified as having severe
malnutrition and 36% as having mild to moderate malnutrition, while only 8% were
well-nourished. BMI identified 40% of participants as underweight, with reduced mean
values for both sexes (female: 19.25 ± 3.26 kg/m²; male: 19.11 ± 3.39 kg/m²).
Additionally, arm circumference (25.84 ± 3.03 cm in women; 25.20 ± 2.82 cm in men)
and calf circumference (30.26 ± 2.84 cm and 29.72 ± 2.84 cm, respectively) also
indicated diminished body reserves.
In conclusion, malnutrition and nutritional risk are highly prevalent in the
oncology context, reinforcing the need for individualized nutritional interventions. The
findings highlight the importance of the nutritionist in continuous monitoring, ensuring
adequate protein intake, and promoting nutrition education focused on qualified food
choices that support improved prognosis and quality of life during treatment.

Abstract: This systematic review investigated the role of vitamin D and calcium in preventing fractures in frail elderly individuals. Using the PubMed and Google Scholar databases, the research included 7 randomized controlled clinical trials. The results showed that the effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation is dose-dependent, with medium doses (1600-3200 IU/day) being more effective in reducing falls in Caucasian women, while high doses (≥1000 IU/day) were associated with a higher risk of first fall with fracture. The combined intervention of exercise with vitamin D was superior to supplementation alone. The most significant finding was the nutritional optimization (calcium and protein) in institutionalized elderly individuals, which resulted in a 33% reduction in fractures overall and a 46% reduction in hip fractures. It is concluded that the prevention of falls and fractures should be multifactorial, prioritizing exercise and ensuring adequate intake of calcium and protein as the most determining factors.

Abstract: Varginha, MG. 5 workshops were carried out nutrition education in period of 2 months and anthropometric measurements with measurements of weight, height and waist circumference before and after the series of workshops. The results showed that patients reduced on average 1.4kg and 2.2 cm in waist circumference, however there was no statistical difference between the average weight before and after the nutritional intervention. It is noteworthy that a significant result for the nutrition education activities need to be continuous and combined with a healthy diet, being indispensable the nutritionist's role in monitoring this T conclude that educational workshops is a strategy that encourages individuals to remake their process. We knowledge and habits about healthy eating for weight reduction and risk of chronic disease. but the work must be planned in the long term to better results.

Abstract: Autism spectrum disorder disrupts normal processes of social, cognitive and communicative development, usually manifesting itself up to three years of age and being prevalent in males. Studies look for factors that contribute to reducing the manifestation of specific symptoms or characteristics. Objective: to assess behavioral changes and symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders as a result of gluten and casein restriction in people with autism. Materials and methods: The study was submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas and carried out at Fundação Varginhense for the Assistance of Exceptional Children in Varginha Minas Gerais, in the second half of 2015. Eight autistic individuals aged between 2 and 2 were evaluated. 25 years. There was a dietary intervention, suggesting to parents the restriction of casein for 4 weeks and later on gluten for 7 weeks and 3 days, totaling 11 weeks and 3 days. Results: All volunteers showed improvement in at least one of the characteristic symptoms of the disorder. The symptom that showed the greatest evolution was aggressiveness in 62.5% (n 5), followed by stereotypy in 50% (n=4) of the volunteers (p=0.01). Regarding gastrointestinal symptoms, four mothers reported improvement after restriction of gluten and casein. Conclusion: Although more studies are needed to prove the effectiveness of the diet, the present study corroborates the results previously published. suggesting an improvement in the symptoms presented by autistic individuals and, consequently, in the quality of life after dietary intervention with gluten and casein restriction.
