Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the programs related to athletics in Brazilian schools, considering the benefits that the practice of athletics at school can provide for the child in their physical, psychological and social development. Athletics is considered the fundamental sport to test all motor skills, as they demand strength, speed, endurance and agility at the same time. The present study was carried out through bibliographical research, based on renowned authors in the field of Physical Education. The initial and indirect intention with the study was to disseminate athletics programs in the educational context. The study points out that the programs present clear and objective proposals, as they do not prioritize competition, but the collaboration of all, enabling the development of teamwork.

Abstract: The present study aimed to contextualize the role of school Physical Education in the prevention and control of obesity, defining obesity in childhood, factors associated with classification and diagnostic criteria, and the influence of the Physical Education Teacher in combating childhood obesity, describing the health risks of obese children recommending and proposing action plans to combat obesity in order to diagnose the problems caused by childhood obesity, justifying an urgent future intervention to combat this epidemic. As a school subject, Physical Education should not abandon its concern with subsidizing and encouraging students to adopt active lifestyles. Therefore, the importance of the role of school physical education in preventing and controlling obesity in children and adolescents is justified because it is the discipline that provides the regular practice of physical activities, in addition to encouraging the adoption of other healthy lifestyle habits.

Abstract: This monographic work aimed to analyze the benefits and harms that cooperative games and competitive games bring to the education of children in schools. In Physical Education classes it is common for teachers to perform different types of games, but these games need to be applied correctly, in order to really bring benefits to your evolution. The present work does not aim to defend the cooperative games, nor the competitive ones, the main interest is to analyze a way to apply these games, minimizing their damages and maximizing their benefits, so it is understood that both are important in the education of children. Therefore, it is necessary that the Physical Education teacher has theoretical and practical foundation to carry out the application of these games, leaving aside monotony and accommodations, carrying out decent and productive work with the children. Thus, a bibliographical research was carried out to know how the teacher can deal with the positive and negative points of these two types of totally antagonistic games in Physical Education classes.

Abstract: The present work presents a research that was carried out in order to demonstrate the development and importance of motor coordination and flexibility in children and, thus, it is justified by reaffirming the importance of guidance from a Physical Education teacher and regular classes in this discipline for that may represent a differential in improving flexibility. Its objective was to verify if the study group complied with the Brazil Project flexibility levels table as a parameter in the analysis of the obtained results and also to compare the flexibility levels between genders. Data were collected through the analysis of literature documents, scientific articles and bibliographies related to the theme and application of the sit and reach test in the Wells Bank. The tests were applied on three different days, in two moments: before and after Physical Education classes, being, in a second moment, performed the tabulation and descriptive analysis of the obtained results. From the research carried out, it can be concluded that Physical Education classes can contribute to the improvement of flexibility and both boys and girls are above the flexibility level of Projeto Esporte Brasil, which suggests that there are factors benefits in this population studied, in relation to flexibility, but this research did not raise which aspects could be these. It was also noticed a better result in girls compared to boys. Thus, it is reaffirmed the importance of guidance from a Physical Education teacher and regular classes in this discipline so that it can represent a differential in improving flexibility.
