Abstract: The following study is part of the line of research “Training Processes and Development” under the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Management and Regional Development at Centro Universitario do Sul de Minas, which seeks to encourage important questions regarding the initial and continued training of teachers active in higher education. This research aims to investigate teaching and learning practices using Active Methodologies in in-person Undergraduate courses at Higher Education Institutions, seeking to map the sociodemographic profile, which Active Methodologies are used by professors and identify what are the main difficulties in relation to work with Active Methodologies. Using a qualitative-quantitative approach, 76 teachers who work in higher education participated in this study, who responded to an online questionnaire. Of these, 20 agreed to participate in a semi-structured interview. The questionnaire data were treated using descriptive statistics. The interviews were transcribed and processed by IRaMuTeq and then analyzed through content analysis technique. The results demonstrated that the participants in this study approve and use Active Methodologies. As there is no standard in the training and development of these professors for the recognition and application of Active Methodologies as a means of promoting meaningful learning, it only demonstrates that the trajectory was unique for each interviewee. The research highlighted the difficulties of student engagement and profile, the specific training of teachers and the infrastructure provided by educational institutions. The Case Study is considered the most used methodology. It is expected that this study will contribute to the field of teacher training, especially with regard to the possibilities of implementing Active Methodologies from an interdisciplinarity perspective and the management of pedagogical processes. It is expected to publish the preliminary and final results of this research at scientific events and in national and international journals.

Abstract: This dissertation aimed to investigate population displacement and the migration process of
women to the United States, addressing more specifically how this migratory flow has been
occurring in the southern region of Minas Gerais, what challenges they face, what motivates
them to immigrate to the United States, especially to the Florida region, and their experiences
in this process, which is known to be challenging. International migrations are formed based on
specific historical conditions in particular socioeconomic contexts. Within these migratory
processes, which continue to this day, it is important to highlight those carried out by women,
whose search for development leads them to leave their country of origin and seek better
conditions in other countries, especially the United States. The research presents a gender
perspective, highlighting women, who seek better living and working conditions in countries
with larger economies, such as the United States. This process also reveals a complex path full
of adversities, both in the migration process itself and in living abroad and ensuring better social
and financial conditions. The specific objectives of the research were: to identify the facilitating
and hindering factors in the process of displacement of women from Minas Gerais with regard
to issues of gender, race, ethnicity, social class, age, education and regionalisms; to understand
the motivations and experiences of women from Minas Gerais in the displacement process; to
identify the perceptions of women from Minas Gerais regarding relations between Brazil and
the United States with respect to immigration. Methodologically, this was a qualitative research
approach using Oral History. The instrument was a guided interview in which 10 women who
migrated from the south of Minas Gerais-BR to Florida-USA were interviewed. The data
produced were analyzed using the triangulation technique, which articulates the narratives, the
context and dialogues with authors who study the emerging themes of the narratives. As a result,
it was noted that women migrate in search of better cultural, financial and social conditions.
There was no single pattern regarding motivation or difficulties of immigration, but a series of
factors related to the personal characteristics of each interviewee. It was realized, however, that
despite the difficulties with the English language and adapting to the new culture, they have no
interest in returning to Brazil.

Abstract: With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, measures were adopted to contain and prevent the virus, impacting different areas of life and society. Teachers had to reinvent themselves due to the challenges encountered with the implementation of Emergency Remote Teaching and with reconciling professional life with the new daily life, domestic and family tasks. These challenges led to a crisis scenario, in aspects of mental and physical health of these professionals, especially those in the health area. Such professionals go through an educational training process, in which teachers act directly, not only in the educational process, but also in the formation of opinions, generating general influences. Therefore, it is necessary to verify the changes in the health/illness perspectives of these teachers in the scenario of the covid-19 pandemic, through the Theory of Social Representations, which is related to principles socially shared between individuals that govern social practices, ways of thinking and acting and the objects that permeate them. The objective of this work is to investigate the social representations of university professors in the area of human health about health and illness during a pandemic. A qualitative approach was used in the research carried out. Initially, information circulated in regional media between 2020-2021 about the impact of the pandemic in the region was collected. Next, interviews took place with 11 professors who work in higher education in the area of human health at an HEI in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, who agreed to participate in the research, constituting the sample for the present study. The semi structured interviews took place using the Google Meet tool, in common agreement with the participants. For data characterization and analysis, Microsoft Excel and IRaMuTeQ software were used. The final results obtained through this research are directed towards the fact that teachers' social representations of health and illness are aligned around physical, emotional and social well-being, so that when there is balance in such factors, there will be health and, in its imbalance, disease. This representation of health considered only the external aspects of the individual, placing him as the sole controller of his health, disregarding the internal aspects, which are not under his control, such as genetics. On the other hand, the representations of illness were permeated, on the one hand, by considering the external aspects of the individual and, on the other hand, by considering the internal aspects of the individual. Therefore, their Social Representations consist of a simplification of reality, which had as its starting point the reified universe, however, reconstructed, based on beliefs, values, attitudes and historical and social context of teachers. Thus, it is understood that the covid-19 pandemic contributed to the (re)construction of Social Representations of teachers in the area of human health about health and illness. When asked about the influence of the media on their perceptions, in times of pandemic, despite its importance in disseminating information, teachers were categorically against the way in which the covid-19 pandemic was approached by the media, in which negativity and sensationalism prevailed. However, it was found that teachers used the circumstance as an opportunity to add to the importance of health, with reflections on the topic. Finally, it was concluded that the final results obtained through this study have the potential to contribute to the scientific community, as it explores a contemporary topic that has not yet been investigated by other researchers.

Abstract: Education, in its broad sense, both formal and non-formal, has always been one of the pillars
of any development and modernization process. This process necessarily involves education.
The research was carried out within the Postgraduate Program in Management and Regional
Development - PPGDR, of the Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas - Unis-MG, which is
interdisciplinary and aims to produce knowledge and train human resources in the Academic
Master's course, in Research Line II, Formative Processes and Development. This line of
research aims to explore the theoretical and practical dimensions related to training processes
in general, geared towards development and the reduction of social, economic, political, and
cultural inequalities, and towards regional management and development. This research has as
its theme the perspective of graduates in Licentiate in Music Modality EaD (Distance
Education). It is an applied nature research with a qualitative approach, exploratory and
descriptive methodology and aims as objective to reflect on issues within regional and human
development, in the process of training music educators in the context of the course mentioned
above. There were used questionnaires, interviews, bibliographical survey, and analysis of
collected data. The obtained data was received the treatment of software ATLAS.ti® for the
interviews. The total research population was forty-five graduates, with a return of thirth-three
completed questionnaires. A semi-structured was also carried out with nine graduates. In this
way it was possible to investigate approaches or departures within conceptions of these
graduates, regarding the teaching processes and learning processes of the aforementioned
course, evidenced in previous research. About researching problem, we present the following
question: What are the perceptions from graduates of a Degree in Music the distance education
modality regarding their learning process? According to Ribeiro (2013, apud Baker, 2012),
“Investigating the paths that students take to learn music in the online environment is an
important step towards developing future pedagogical practices, as well as informing other
practical approaches to training music teachers”. The results obtained indicate that this type of
education (EaD) had contributed to the better achievement of graduation. The perception of
graduates regarding the performance of the teacher and tutor can be considered as one of the
factors for their retention and completion of the course.
