Abstract: Urinary incontinence (IU) is defined by the International Continuum Society (ICS) as
any involuntary loss of urine, and may be divided according to the symptoms in: stress urinary
incontinence, bladder hyperactivity (urgency), or mixed incontinence (urgency plus stress). The
prevalence of I.U. in pregnant women is variable, from 0.7 to 35%, with greater impact during
the third trimester of pregnancy due to the increase in pregnancy weight and decreases
significantly in the postpartum period. The objective of this study is to verify the prevalence of
urinary incontinence in pregnant women with high risk and non-risk pregnancies. Such study
is necessary to know which group of pregnant women presents a higher prevalence of I.U. and
check the incidence of urinary symptoms. This is a cross-sectional and quantitative
observational study, where instruments for performing the Urinary Incontinence analysis will
be applied to two groups of pregnant women, with high risk and no risk. After the data
collection of the questionnaires, they will be plotted in Microsoft Excel 2010 worksheet. In this
will be applied the double typing technique for the data to be matched. Next, graphs will be
elaborated for the analysis of the two groups studied, in order to observe which will obtain a
higher prevalence of urinary incontinence.

Abstract: The balance deficit is the most common symptom in individuals with Parkinson's disease
(PD) due to motor damage caused by the degeneration of the nigro-estriatopalidal pathway.
Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of a muscle strengthening protocol associated with
musical rhythms in the variables balance and decreased fear of falls in individuals with PD.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Three individuals of both sexes, aged 55 to 80 years with a
medical diagnosis of PD were selected from the population attended at the Reference Center
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the city of Varginha - MG. Three types of
evaluation were carried out before and after the intervention: (i) Hoehn & Yahr - Degree of Disability Scale, (ii) balance (Mini Balance Evaluation System Test - Mini-BESTest) and (iii)
fear of falls (International Falls Efficiency Scale - FES-I). For the intervention, a
physiotherapeutic protocol was developed in association with musical rhythms, with group
therapy of 40 minutes once a week for a total of 10 sessions. Results and conclusion: The
exercise protocol used in association with musical rhythms was effective to promote balance
improvement and decrease fear of falls in individuals with Parkinson's disease.

Abstract: The changes due to the aging process puts at risk the quality of life of older
people and limit their ability to perform with force the daily activities. The regular
practice of physical activity is capable of predicting 19 to 29% of functional
performance of elderly people in the community, presenting higher scores on balance,
mobility and strength tests of limbs (LLS). In view of the influence of muscular
function of the lower limbs in the functional performance of elderly people in the
community, in the present study, the main objective is to evaluate the muscular strength
of the lower limbs of elderly who participate in the project Unis Senior. It is a cross sectional observational study, participated in this study 62 elderly people. All the guests
were submitted to an assessment socio demographic (age, sex, marital status, education,
number of falls and practiced physical activities) and performed the test stand up and sit
down the chair for 30 seconds. The 62 elders evaluated had a mean age of 68.22 years
(SD ± 6.06). Most of the elderly were widowed with 45.16% (n=28). Regarding
schooling, 45.16% (n=28) were years of schooling between 5-8 years of study. Most of
the elderly reported having suffered at least one fall in the last year with 53.88 % (33).
And with respect to the practice of physical activity was observed that 66.12% does not
perform physical activity outside of the Senior Project Unis thus demonstrating the
importance of the practice of physical activity, which is essential for older adults live
independently.

Abstract: Sit-to-stand (ST-DP) is one of the most transitional posture activities performed by
children on a daily basis, since reaching orthostatism is a prerequisite for other
functional mobility activities. The objective of this work was to perform a functional
training of transfer from seated to standing to acquisition of orthostatism and balance in
children with Down Syndrome, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of the
intervention. Six children with Down Syndrome were selected, 4 of whom were male
and 2 were female, with ages ranging from 1 to 3 years, mean ± standard deviation in
months 22.6 ± 5.4, in the population of students enrolled in the Foundation Varginese of
Assistance to the Exceptional (FUVAE), municipality of Varginha, MG. The Gross
Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) translated by Palisano in 2007 was
applied. It is a standardized qualitative scale based on the voluntarily initiated
movement, emphasizing sitting, transfers and mobility. Participants 1 and 2 evolved at
functional levels on the GMFCS scale and were successful in gaining the function from
sitting to standing. The other participants remained at the same functional level even
after the intervention. Frequency of treatment is an extremely important item because
children with the lowest number of absences achieve a positive result through
intervention. It is necessary that new motor experiences be carried out with the use of
new methodologies and exercises
