Abstract: Mammary neoplasms in bitches are the most common tumor formations in these
animals, which can be directly associated with the indiscriminate use of hormones as a form of
population control, with early castration being the contraceptive measure that most contributes
to the well-being of these animals. long term. This disease directly affects the mammary glands,
the abdominal and inguinal glands being more affected than the thoracic ones. In the diagnosis,
it is necessary that the patient's physical examination is thorough, consisting in the palpation of
the mammary glands and assessment of the animal's general condition, also recommending the
performance of complementary exams such as: histopathology, cytology, radiography and
ultrasonography. The treatment of choice consists of surgical intervention. In this paper, we
present a case report of a 7-year-old female undefined race dog, weighing 21.8 kg, with no
medical/surgical history and a resident of the municipal kennel of Varginha-MG. This female
presents a mammary neoplasm in the right caudal abdominal mammary gland, with radical
unilateral mastectomy being the form of treatment performed.

Abstract: In Brazil, 167 species of bats are registered, 70% of which have insectivorous feeding habits.
Urbanization directly affects bat communities in various regions of the world, as a result, cities
become favorable places due to the ease of shelter and food found by bats. As it is currently
known that the air cycle is the biggest problem when it comes to the transmission of the rabies
virus (VRA), this proximity between different species of bats with humans and pets entails a
greater risk of rabies occurrence. Rabies is a zoonosis, with a fatality rate close to 100%. It is
caused by a virus of the Lyssavirus genus, being transmitted through the saliva of an infected
mammal. This study analyzed data from the Zoonoses Control Center (CCZ) in the municipality
of Varginha, MG, on the collection of animals and sending them to the laboratory for testing for
the rabies virus, as well as data on the rabies vaccination campaign council of dogs and cats. The
results showed that, from a total of 488 captured mammals, all that obtained positive results were
insectivorous bats, representing 1.85% of the total captured bats. Therefore, the objective of the
work was to show the relevance of bats, mainly non-haematophagous ones, in the epidemiology
of urban rabies and to discuss the importance of the role of municipal zoonoses centers, not only
in rabies immunization activities, but also in capturing and carrying out of examinations in bats
and blocking actions, in case of positive result for rabies virus in these animals.

Abstract: There are breeds of dogs with morphologies called craniofacial anomalies and this set of
anomalies is called brachycephaly, being called brachycephalic due to its cranial conformation
and facial bones. These breeds with shortened snouts have undergone modifications by man,
presenting deformations in the skeleton and causing several problems, such as respiratory
difficulty, which becomes severe when these dogs are excited and exercising. Brachycephalic
breeds (pug, french bulldog and shih tzu) are on the rise these days, as tutors are very interested
in the physical characteristics of these dogs. The artificial selection made in these dogs makes
their respiratory system deficient due to the aesthetics sought by man. Among the abnormalities
present in the syndrome are: development of primary abnormalities involving the upper
respiratory system, such as stenosis of the nostrils, elongated soft palate, tracheal hypoplasia and
everted laryngeal sacs, which may lead to secondary changes. Diagnosis is made in dogs aged
between two and three years. This paper reports the case of Aruk, a five-year-old English
Bulldog with grade three brachycephalic syndrome. He went through the palatoplasty procedure
where after the surgery he had satisfactory results, all noises and clinical signs were resolved.
There are two treatments for the syndrome, clinical and surgical. Clinical treatment is palliative
and aims to reverse and reduce clinical signs. Surgical treatment is curative and aims to reverse
primary and secondary anatomical changes, which are the major causes of the syndrome and
clinical signs. The aim of this work was to describe the importance of early diagnosis and correct
treatment of the syndrome, aiming at better survival for affected dogs.

Abstract: Canine parvovirus is an infectious disease caused by canine parvovirus type 2 (PVC-2), which
mainly affects young and unvaccinated dogs, triggering gastrointestinal and immunosuppressive
signs. It can reach dogs of any age and even vaccinated ones. It appeared in 1978, with a high
rate of morbidity and mortality, and the incidence of the disease is still high. It has a worldwide
distribution, with no predilection for sex and race, but some races are more affected. Diagnosis is
based on anamnesis, physical examination, clinical features, laboratory and imaging tests. There
is no specific treatment, the therapy is symptomatic and supportive, being a very important
nutrition during this process, as it helps in the body's recovery and fasting has no scientific basis.
The prognosis varies from reserved to favorable. Thus, the objective of this work was to study,
through a literature review, relevant points about the disease, with emphasis on the importance of
nutrition during treatment, since it is a great challenge for the veterinarian, considering the
condition in where the patient is and the importance of nurturing him to recover and reduce his
hospitalization and recovery time.
