With the purpose of specifying, constructing, and documenting all system requirements, this study adopted techniques of the Unified Modeling Language, Ratreabilidade and Mapping Requirements. The prototype will help users get an overview of how a system will assist in document management and employees of the company, being organized in a database, thus enabling releases, location of data or information. Título: METODOLOGIA SEIS SIGMA PARA REDUÇÃO DE CUSTO E MELHORIA NA PRODUTIVIDADE DO PROCESSO DE DEPOSIÇÃO DE CROMO EM VÁLVULAS DE ADMISSÃO E ESCAPAMENTO DE MOTORES A COMBUSTÃO INTERNA Autor(es): Batista, Fábio Donisete; Cruz, Sarah Aparecida da Abstract: This work describes the use of the Six Sigma methodology for cost reduction and improvement in the productivity of the chrome deposition process in inlet and exhaust valves of internal combustion engines. This methodology is necessary to reduce the variability, increase the technical capacity of the equipment / professional and to generate the optimum profit. The objective of this study is to eliminate the variation of the chromium deposition process, reducing the applied layer, using the Six Sigma metrics, supported by quality tools, in order to leave the losses in acceptable levels and the company more competitive. This purpose will be achieved through an action research in a multinational of the south of Minas Gerais manufacturer of valves for several engines, where the processes that affect the project will be evaluated statistically. The work has shown that Six Sigma is a very disciplined business strategy that seeks customer satisfaction, requires reliable and objective data that should be well focused on the proposed work problem and that serve as a reference to prove that the changes made have been converted improvements. This methodology helped to solve problems and make improvements in the process, such as layout changes, workflow changes and financial gains, where losses were eliminated, reducing manufacturing costs.
