Abstract: This work refers to the nurse's performance in manual compression after removal of the femoral introducer in Immediate Postoperative (POI) and Post-operative Mediato (POM) in Cardiac Catheterization (CAT). A sample of 68 patients submitted to CAT at Minascor de Varginha-MG, from June to July in 2007, were divided into three groups of professionals who performed manual compression: group 01 nurse, group 02 nurse technician and group 03 nursing students. Small hematoma was defined as palpable swelling at the puncture site less than 2 cm; moderate hematoma, 2 to 6 cm in diameter; and large hematoma larger than 6 cm in diameter. Manual compression was performed from 10 to 14 minutes, 15 to 20 minutes, 21 to 25 minutes and over 25 minutes. In group 01 - two (40%) of the patients formed a hematoma, in the group 02 - five (56%) of the patients formed a hematoma and in the group 03 - fifteen (28%) of the patients formed a hematoma. The manual compression after percutaneous coronary interventions can be performed by the nurse safely and without major complications, the estimated time for a good result is over 15 minutes.

Abstract: This monograph aimed to verify the humanization present in the perception and performance of the Nurse in the face of postmortem care. It is a study that seeks to know the emotions and feelings most commonly experienced by nurses when performing such care; analyze the factors that interfere with this process and suggest measures to make it more holistic and complete. This research is qualitative, hypothetical-deductive. Thus, a field survey was carried out through the application of questionnaires to nurses at a general hospital in the city of Varginha, southern Minas Gerais, in the month of October 2008. Twenty-seven nurses were interviewed at the hospital under study. The interview consisted of identification data and open-ended questions related to death, perception of the post-mortem care, emotions, feelings present during the interview. The results indicate that the majority of nurses are focused on administrative and managerial tasks and that assistance to the family of the deceased client is placed in the background. Nurses have demonstrated insufficient scientific knowledge related to post-mortem physiological changes, which may impair their care. With regard to the emotions and feelings experienced by nurses when they performed postmortem care, feelings of "sadness", "unpreparedness", "impotence", "pain", "relief", "regret", "regret" "," discomfort "," uprising ", which shows that, even with the constant experience with the process, nurses are sensitive to post-mortem care, although they are often labeled as professionals who are indifferent to the process, who do not engage emotionally with clients, and who do not have a humanized perception of the body of a deceased client.

Abstract: This study deals with the quality of nursing professionals' assistance to patients who are being submitted to chemotherapy, specifically addressing the difficulties that professionals find in their jobs relevant to the administration of chemotherapeutics, orientation to patients and their families, interaction of multiprofessional team, knowledge of the institutional protocols that are some of the factors that give these professionals a direction to carry out their daily activities and that will serve as parameters to provide an increasingly better care for patients in cancer treatment. We indirectly identify how nurse managers, starting from the point of view of the nursing technicians, are orienting their teams, and what are the limitations that make it impossible to perform better in the quality of care provided. The study used qualitative methods of hypothetical-deductive character, where the parameters for the realization were based on the Bardin content analysis, which allows us to analyze the information collected by observing them in their various faces so that they can be validated through scientific references for the conclusion of the study.
