Using questionnaires, interviews and document analysis, data was collected on the institutions' level of compliance with the LGPD, their knowledge and understanding of the law, the challenges faced and the measures taken to ensure compliance. The results showed that the majority of institutions are still not fully compliant with the LGPD, facing challenges such as lack of financial and technical resources, lack of employee training and complexity of legislation. However, some institutions have adopted measures such as reviewing privacy policies, implementing information security measures and hiring professionals specialized in data protection. These results highlight the importance of compliance with the LGPD by schools in the south of Minas Gerais to protect the personal information of students, employees and others involved, in addition to the need to raise awareness about the importance of data protection in educational institutions. The need for qualified professionals in this field is evident, especially after the pandemic, when the demand for IT talents increased significantly. This research aims to assess the relevance of resources such as agile methodologies, the use of knowledge management tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the implementation of code review practices in the transfer of knowledge among IT professionals. The research was conducted through a questionnaire distributed to IT professionals, addressing their experiences and perceptions of training strategies. The results revealed that the provision of courses, internal documentation, and supervised tasks are the most effective methods perceived by professionals. Additionally, agile methodologies and the use of AI tools were considered significant contributors to professional development. The research also identified a correlation between professional experience and the perception of the applicability of training through roadmaps and supervised activities, suggesting the need for further investigations into this trend. This study contributes to understanding how to optimize training and knowledge transfer in the IT sector by integrating agile methodologies and modern management tools, aiming to prepare professionals to meet the growing demands of the market. Effective implementation of IT Governance (ITG) mechanisms, which encompass accountability structures, control processes, communication protocols and decision rights, fosters the convergence of IT and business objectives. This alignment is particularly crucial for companies, where increasing commercial value is a possibility. However, companies face challenges in implementing ITG due to resource constraints, communication obstacles, resistance to change, and technological complexity. The present study investigates these complex dynamics in a large industry in the south of Minas Gerais, Brazil, examining the adoption of ITG mechanisms as a means of enhancing business value through IT. An interpretivist approach characterizes the inductive qualitative study, using a case study to explore the interrelationships between ITG mechanisms, IT resources and business value. Four hypotheses are presented, shedding light on the intricate relationships between these elements. The conclusions indicate that ITG mechanisms have a positive impact on the value of IT businesses, despite presenting identifiable weaknesses and areas for improvement. Improving alignment between IT and business can be achieved by addressing these deficiencies, mitigating risks such as lack of motivation among IT professionals and resistance to change.
