Abstract: Study of the incidence of intestinal parasitosis in pregnant women at low prenatal risk attended at a polyclinic in the city of Elói Mendes-MG and its possible relationship with anemia, malnutrition and socioeconomic conditions. . Study carried out by collecting data from medical records and questionnaires. Of the 87 pregnant women studied, 15 had positive coproparasitological exams, which represents 17.2%. The most frequent species was Entamoeba hystolitica (40%). The low incidence may be underestimated since a single stool sample was analyzed using only one method. In studies using more and more specific methods, the prevalence was much higher.

Abstract: Study of the main opportunistic diseases that affect patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy in the city of Varginha, using medical records of patients who underwent oncology at the Hospital Bom Pastor in 2005. The work was carried out between the months of February and October 2006 , with the objective of showing that patients, due to chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, are vulnerable to different pathogens and may present diseases such as candidiasis, herpes simplex and zoster. The importance of identifying these post-cancer treatment diseases makes us reflect on the implementation and consequences of traditional treatment methods and the impacts on patients' lives, minimizing their suffering.
