Abstract

This work was developed seeking to present the innumerable maintenance modalities that can be applied in machinery used in the roasting of coffee beans, demonstrating even the influence that an efficient maintenance planning can influence in the company's results and in the quality of the beans that are benefited. The problem addressed in the work asks: what are the maintenance modalities that apply both at an outsourced level and performed by the company itself in a maintenance planning? The work has the general objective of recognizing, through a bibliographic study, the main concepts of maintenance and its variants. Among the specific objectives, proceed to a theoretical review of concepts, methods and elements that make up the maintenance process, pointing out its viability; analyze the importance of maintenance to ensure continuity and ensure increased productivity and competitiveness for a coffee roaster; and, talk about the process of roasting coffee beans. The importance of the proposed theme is the fact that the maintenance of equipment has become a central and crucial point to be considered by company administrators.
