SAÚDE EM CRECHE: novos horizontes para o cuidado da criança

Abstract

This monograph aimed to know if the specialized orientation, carried out by the nursing student, on topics related to the health of the child can have repercussions on daycare care. This research has a qualitative, hypothetical-deductive approach. A field survey was conducted through interviews with teachers of the Centro de Educação Infantil Menino Jesus I, in the city of Elói Mendes, southern Minas Gerais, in July and August 2009, with the purpose of making a previous evaluation and after the orientation of the teachers / caregivers of day care on issues related to the child's health. Six teachers were interviewed at the institution under study. The interview consisted of identification data and open questions related to the child's health, as well as care and vision about the care provided. The results show that the teachers, after the lecture, sought to observe the child integrally and individually, to evaluate the growth and intellectual, sensory-motor development and to associate the genetics of the child, and were able to describe some toys considered ideal for certain ages emphasizing security and stimulate child development. In addition, they have broadened the knowledge about diseases that occur frequently in childhood, as well as on the importance of vaccination and the guidelines related to the regularization of the vaccination scheme, not just in vaccination campaigns. On the other hand, they demonstrated a still poor theoretical knowledge with fundamental attitudes that must be carried out at the moment of each emergency situation. However, in general, the specialized orientation had a positive repercussion on daycare care.
