DM is broken down into two major groups, with type 1 diabetes (TID) which is caused by the destruction of pancreatic beta cells causing insulin deficiency and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) a combination of insulin resistance, impaired cell beta, hyperglycemia and obesity.
