metadata.dc.description.resumo: Objetivo: avaliar o consumo de bebidas gaseificadas e a correlação do Índice de Massa Corpórea – IMC nas crianças de seis anos de uma escola pública municipal da cidade de Varginha/MG. Método: A amostra foi composta por 149 participantes com a faixa etária de 6 anos de idade, de ambos os sexos, estudantes da Escola Municipal José Augusto de Paiva, situada na cidade de Varginha/MG. O instrumento para averiguação do consumo de bebidas gaseificadas foi um questionário, no qual os participantes assinalavam, em cada dia da semana, se ingeriram refrigerante. Após a coleta de dados, utilizou-se o software Microsoft Excel 2010 para o tabulação dos dados e, em seguida, os dados relativos à comparação do consumo de bebidas gaseificadas e a correlação do Índice de Massa Corpórea – IMC nas crianças de seis anos pelo software SPSS Statistical Package for the Social Sciences versão 22.0. Resultados: os resultados mostraram que os participantes não possuem o hábito de consumir refrigerante, não havendo correlação entre o IMC e o consumo da bebida gaseificada. Conclusão: Conclui-se que não houve correlação entre o IMC e o consumo da bebida, principalmente porque na escola onde foi feita a pesquisa, há orientação nutricional através de palestras, jogos e discussões sobre os malefícios do refrigerante e as consequências de se alimentar corretamente.
Abstract: Objective: to evaluate the consumption of gas drinks and the correlation of the Body Mass Index - BMI in the six years-old children of a municipal public school in Varginha/MG. Method: The sample consisted of 149 participants with a 6-year age group of both sexes, of which 70 were female and 79 were male, students from the Municipal School José Augusto de Paiva, located in Varginha/MG. The instrument for the investigation of the consumption of carbonated drinks was a questionnaire in which participants indicated, on each day of the week, whether they ingested soda After data collection, the software Microsoft Excel 2010 was used to post the information obtained, and then the data on the comparison of the consumption of carbonated drinks and the correlation of the Body Mass Index - BMI in children of six years by software SPSS Statistical Package for the Social Sciences versão 22.0. Results: the results showed that there was no correlation between the BMI and the consumption of the carbonated beverage, since the participants did not have the habit of consuming gas drinks. Conclusion: It was concluded that there was no correlation between the BMI and the consumption of the beverage, mainly because in the school where the research was carried out, there is nutritional orientation through lectures, games and discussions about the harmful effects of the refrigerant and the consequences of feeding properly.
